We are offering these resources free of charge, but if you would like to donate to our ongoing support of textiles education, we would really appreciate it. Textiles Skills Centre is managed by a small team of volunteers, who develop free resoures and support teachers through the Textiles Teachers Centre and other networking activities.

WRAP ‘N WEAVE + NICOLA PERREN
TEA ’N CHAT with Textile Artist and Lecturer Nicola Perren, who leads a hands on weaving workshop, which can be used in the classroom. A session playing with yarns, materials, and objects to create wrap and woven inspired samples suitable for development boards or, as samples in their own right.

Nicola is a freelance designer, maker and tutor with a studio based in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. Having spent over 20 years as a f/t senior lecturer in Textiles at the University of Huddersfield, their experience teaching weave, drawing for textiles, craft and design has led into a practice that springs from drawing into textiles.
